Here comes #23

Just to make sure everyone heard the news: the Zufelt's are having another baby!!! We announced it to the kids on Saturday and then took them around that night to share the news with family in town. They are pretty excited (Bryson especially) as are we. I was not pregnant when I had my surgery so hopefully this baby was not affected by any of that. I'm almost 10 weeks now and due in mid-late August. If its not a baby girl I think Brynn might die. I asked her if she would still love it if it was a boy and she said "ugghhhh. . . yes. But I'm so sick of these boys!" (meaning her brothers) These are some of the responses we got after our announcement:

* If its a girl can we name her Kevin? (from UP)
* Oh, Yes!!! Now we can fight over the baby instead of the dog!
* I don't understand. What's going on?! (after 8 kids and 20+ grandkids Dad still gets confused)
* Another one? Again?
* Well, its ABOUT TIME!!!
* I knew Tanner would break you down.
* a hard, blank stare (from Hud)

Believe it or not this was a planned pregnancy - our first one - and we found out on Christmas Day. Pretty good Christmas present I'd say. I don't recommend moving during the first trimester. I've been more exhausted than ever before and had a bit of nausea, which I've never had with the other pregnancies, but I can't complain too much. I get my naps with Hud every day and that seems to help a lot. We will keep everyone posted on any changes.

I was walking in the house last week and saw this by the back door. We have Emily and Jeff's boots and shoes for working with their horse Dillon. Tavin loves to visit Dillon and has even ridden him a few times so this was a cute picture with his cowboy boots next to everyone elses!

After the trials

His feet look great now!

What his club feet looked like at 5 days old

Come the blessings. Of that I have no doubt! I took little Isaiah to the ortho today anticipating his casts to be changed out and replaced for another 3-4 weeks. The ortho said that his feet looked SO good, they did not have to be recasted, and he will just have to wear a brace at night from now on. That was BIG news to me, and I know it is a direct result of any answer to many prayers. He was healed a month earlier that the Dr thought he could be. Around Christmas time, Isaiah was completely miserable since the set of casts he had went up over his knees and kept his legs in a bent position. There were many days when he would cry all day and all night. I was so exhausted and so discouraged that I could not comfort him to the point that I would end up in tears myself. Dre gave him a couple father's blessings, but even that did not help him settle down. We have Tylenol with Codeine for his pain, but after dad mentioned that Codein is a narcotic and highly addictive, I have been hesitant to give it to him. I had a major melt-down last week and literally prayed night and day, pleading with Heavenly Father to help Isaiah deal with this trial at such a young age, and to make me strong enough to handle it too. But then I also told Him I am done with the challenges He has given us for the past 4 years and needed some breathing room. I knew he would answer my prayers, I just didn't expect it to be this way. But I am SO happy about it! Isaiah seems so much happier already- now we just have to have this brace made and we are good to go. I have such a testimony that Heavenly Father will not give us more than we can handle. When we finally let go and walk a few steps into the darkness, proving to ourselves how strong we really are & how much faith we really have, we are blessed in unexpected ways. Thank you all for the prayers and fasts. I know the little Weber girls pray for Isaiah all the time- thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Hello Family!

Here's the idea of this new blog: It's been created as a forum/bulletin board for all of our family members. We want a place where anyone in our family can post what's happening in our lives, for all to see, read, and be aware of. Some ideas of posts could be, Nicole's volleyball tournament schedule, Jessica's dance performances, piano concerts, family outings or gatherings, or even cute, short stories about a baby, child, or even maybe an embarrassing moment that Debi would like to share about Rick :)

There isn't one person who will be responsible for the postings... everyone in the family will have access to post and read what is on our blog. Hopefully, this will be a way to unite us over the distances and we will all be able to stay connected. Please let's try to keep this positive, loving, and supportive!
